Setting up a performance cycle

To set up a cycle, navigate towards ‘performance cycle’ via the admin panel. The cycle that is active and running is directly displayed. Similar to the template module, the cycles are categorised and ordered under ‘published’, ‘drafts’ and ‘archived’.

When you decide to set up a cycle, choose ‘create new cycle’ in the upper right corner, and click on ‘get started’. Navigate to the next page and name your cycle. Choose ‘Performance Cycle’ or think about another name that fits your organisation. Names such as ‘My Development Plan’ or ‘The Cycle’ are often preferred. Choose a name that best fits your organisation!

Then, by navigating towards ‘Choose a performance cycle’, indicate the number and type of actions that will define the rhythm of your performance cycle. Choose a default cycle, or create your own under ‘custom’. Here you indicate the number of goals for the ursers, how much feedback they will receive and how many times they will reflect during  the selected period of time. Per action you will indicate if the cycle will run for a month, a quarter or half a year.

In the next screen you will indicate when the performance cycle starts. The starting date will always be on the first of a month, and the date will always be in the future. If you would prefer a starting date in the past because, for example, it fits in better with another development cycle that is already in place, please let us know. We will make sure that the cycle will be set to the date that suits your wish!

In the next screen it’s possible to add a personal message to the announcement of the cycle. This announcement will be sent to all users of the environment in question when the new cycle starts. After personalising the message and navigating towards the next screen, you’re able to either save or publish the performance cycle.

When a cycle is published, all users will be emailed and notified. When you choose to save as a draft, the cycle can be published later. The personal message that accompanies a cycle can be edited after publishing. To edit this personal message, navigate to the tab ‘active cycle’, and click on the three dots in the upper right corner. Here you can also archive the cycle if the performance cycle doesn’t fit your wishes anymore. After a cycle has been published, it is not possible to edit the number of actions or time periods that were ascribed to it. If you want to edit an already published cycle you’ll have to archive it and create a new one. So, double check before publishing!
